Every year, children from Nursery to Year 6 have the opportunity to perform in front of an audience. This may be during class Drama sessions, in our after school Drama Clubs, in Assemblies, in class plays and in our infamous year end productions.

IMG_2753.jpgAt the end of the Autumn Term, each class in the Infant House performs its own Christmas Play while the Junior House children busily prepare for their Christmas Carol Concert in St Anne's Church.

During the Summer Term, Kew College prepares for what is arguably the pinnacle of the school year: the summer play! Children in every year group work diligently alongside their class teachers and our Head of Music to stage a spectacular musical and dramatic feast. Dance routines are incorporated into many of the productions, adding extra dimension to the shows. Backdrops and settings are carefully crafted to reflect the spirit of each play. During a week-long dramatic festival, parents and governors pack the marquee, which creates an enchanting setting. For Year 6, the Leaver's Play represents a culmination of their time at Kew College, leaving each and every child – and parent – with a lasting memory of their time at the school.

Taking part in these productions gives each individual child the opportunity to develop their personal skills and talents in a relaxed and creative environment. The children learn to work together, supporting one another and building their confidence to speak and perform in public.
