Kindergarten Green's Nativity 'Shine Star, Shine!' Thursday 1st December 2016

P1080675 webfrontChristmas has arrived in Kindergarten Green! On the 1st of December, the children came to school in high spirits; excited from opening their advent calendars and ready to perform in their fantastic production of 'Shine Star, Shine!'

Through songs and actions, the children told the nativity story from the perspective of a 'Big Star' who suddenly found that she could not shine. Her friends, the little stars, tried to help her so that she would be able to show the shepherds and Kings the way to the stable where baby Jesus had been born. Finally, on seeing the beautiful baby boy in the manger, she was filled with love and her light shone out for many miles above the stable.

All the children looked wonderful in their beautiful costumes and sang the songs with infectious enthusiasm. Thank you kindly for all your support in helping your children to learn the words and for the delightful costumes provided. We wish you a lovely Christmas holiday and a very happy 2017!

Kindergarten Blue's Nativity, Shine Star Shine.

On a cold and frosty afternoon Kindergarten Blue excitedly left the warmth of their classroom to perform their Nativity. As they made their way across the crowded playground, carefully trying not to trip over their long robes or lose a halo or two, Junior break came to a standstill as they watched the angelic procession pass. Suddenly the silence was broken by spontaneous applause from the older children wishing their little counterparts well.

Once settled in the Sedum, Miss Taman started playing the piano, the parents took their seats and then it was time to begin. After weeks of hard work the children were at last ready to perform Shine Star, Shine. The Big Star needed to show the Kings and the Shepherds the way to the stable where a special baby had been born, but there was a problem – she just could not shine! Her friends, the other stars, tried to make her believe that she could shine again. The story came to a close when the Big Star realises that Jesus's love will help her to shine again. The children confidently retold the story of the birth of baby Jesus through words and joyful singing, helping to remind us all about the meaning of Christmas and why we should all believe in ourselves!

We would like to thank all the parents for their support and for the wonderful costumes and to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
