On Wednesday, Kew College opened its doors to welcome the Very Hungry Caterpillar amongst others to another fabulous Book Day. As the children swarmed excitedly into the building, they were greeted by an army of bugs in honour of our Junior House author, M.G. Leonard who also hosted a fabulous assembly and a series of inspirational writing workshops. Meanwhile, we had the pleasure of welcoming renowned illustrator Loretta Schauer for EYFS and the Infant House, who ran her excellent sessions surrounded by some truly terrifying monsters, designed by the children.
During the day, the children immersed themselves in all things book-related, including quiet reading, sharing stories they had written, reading to the younger children and book quizzes and games. A highlight for EYFS and the Infant house was the Hungry Caterpillar wiggling its way to visit all the classes and share its famous story! They thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to parade around the playground and admire each other's weird and wonderful costumes.
It was a fantastic day and we are already counting down the days to the next one!
