IMG 6996 webThis morning a select group of 20 children from Years 5 and 6 formed a choir to sing for this year's chosen local charity 'REACT.'

The choir, conducted by Miss Taman, sang a rendition of songs from last night's outstanding Carol Service. This was accompanied by Mr Hayes on bass clarinet, Mrs Stokes on violin and William on trumpet. Despite this charity carol singing being the day after such a long concert, the choir performed with enthusiasm and got into the spirit of charity carol singing by smiling throughout.

We were joined by some of REACT's staff, who were dressed up in mascot attire and came well equipped with lots of buckets to help raise money.

During the carol singing, the choir were incredibly well received as every passer-by dropped money into the bucket, which was lovely to witness.

The choir had a constant audience of not only our own parent spectators, but also commuters and village shoppers who all showed their appreciation and support with thunderous applause at the end of every carol.

The choir performed to an incredibly high standard today. Even with the cold temperatures outside the 2-part harmonies and solo sections soured clearly around the forecourt of Kew Gardens station. All of the children clearly enjoyed raising money for REACT, as they got into the Christmas spirit by singing whole-heartedly.

We do hope that our carol singing today has helped REACT raise money for their worthy cause.
