Welcome to the KCF Kew College Summer Fair 2016

11th June – 11am to 2pm

The summer fair is the highlight of our year with the whole school community coming together for a fun packed day. It is also the biggest fundraising event that we hold and we aim to raise as much money as possible.

Not only raising money for special projects for the children, we will be fundraising for GOSH, the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity that enables the hospital to continue to provide the very best care for its young patients by funding the redevelopment of facilities, research, equipment and offering support to their young patients and families.

Poster Competition
	Calling all artists! The competition for the front of the summer fair programme is now on. We would like you to design a new British stamp. You can celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday or any other aspect of 'being British'. The winning entry will be used as the poster for the fair, feature on the front of the programme and all other entries will be made into bunting to decorate the front of the school.
We will be sending home all the details in school bags before the Easter break with paper and all the instructions you need for your artwork. Mrs Austin and Miss Shafer will judge the entries

Sponsorship
	Did you know that most UK corporations and banking institutions offer matched giving as an incentive for their employees to contribute to charity? This means you can significantly increase (double in most cases) the amount you can raise for the school. If your class is in charge of the BBQ stall at the fair, for example, they could match the amount raised by that stall. Many small businesses also take part since matched giving amounts are fully tax deductible.
Examples of UK companies that can match your efforts at our Summer Fair are –

If you don't know if your company participates in matched giving, please check with your HR department. Sponsoring We were very fortunate last year to have several sponsors. Funding ranged from £50 towards a stall from a parent to £350 from Antony Roberts who sponsored the drinks stall. Please let your class know that we are very grateful however small the contribution. Raffle and Prize Tree
	Each class is asked to give a prize for the raffle, prize tree or auction. You donated some wonderful prizes last year. Hampers are always very popular and could be themed on gardening, children's books, toys, cookery etc. (only brand new items please). Any vouchers will also be gladly received. We would also be delighted to receive individual contributions.

Silent Auction
	In addition to the raffle prizes, we also rely on parents for contributions to the auction. We reserve the most exciting prizes for the auction to maximise the fundraising potential from them. This is where we raise the most money, so we really need your help!
For the auction, we would love to receive anything from - signed memorabilia, - experiences such as visits to film studios, - race track days, - sought after gig tickets, - the use of a holiday cottage, - horse riding lessons, - a family day out, - a chance to meet a celebrity?!
